★ News from January 2008:
This morning I rang in the new year with the Midnight Run in Central Park.
This year, it was awesome. I haven't been in the best of running shape, still trying to take it relatively easy given my imperceptible injury (a stress fracture in my inferior pubic ramus). However, I totally blew myself away! I ran the 4-mile race in 27:59--basically a 7-minute mile. I had no idea I was anywhere near that pace!
The final leg of the race was what made it especially awesome. Just as I rounded the last sharp turn, I came up against a guy who was ahead of me most of the race, and two other taller, more muscular guys passed me. I knew from past races not to start sprinting until I could gauge where the finish line was. Once I did, I started my sprint. Man, I was FLYING! My body sometimes gets into this mode where I basically transform into machine, cutting through the air like something superhuman. I passed the two guys and the one I'd been trailing, but perceiving my passage, the guy I'd been trailing started to sprint, too. For about the last five seconds, he caught up to me. When we put our feet down at the fininsh line, we agreed--we had tied. So much fun!!
Happy New Year!

I see the trailer for The Accidental Husband is now online on the film's website.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed about being in the film with my two lines and two little scenes! I play Probie, an Astoria fireman.
View the trailer here.
The film comes out in the US on March 7th. If you're in the UK, it comes out about a month earlier, so let me know if I'm in it if you're in the UK and see the film!

Correction! My Midnight Run time on New Year's Day was 28:04, not 27:59. I just caught an image of my photo finish and see ":04" in the image, suggesting my finish was a few seconds later than I had originally thought.
But no worries! Because I also remembered I started probably about 3-4 seconds behind the start line, my 7-minute mile accomplishment is still intact!
The photo finish suggests that in the race to the end, the person who ran up next to me, actually beat me--in the photo he looks a little bit farther ahead. However, from what I remember, we put our feet down at the exact same time. (I also remember its being at the exact same distance from the finish line, but my senses lie, according to the photo.)
